This drawing continues an interest in presenting a representation of nature which is based on an artificial re-creation of a natural form. The vegetation in this drawing was inspired by an image of the plastic lichens that is available for decorating landscapes in toy train collections. Other examples of representations of representations of nature in this body of work are the bird drawings, which are all based on photographs of wooden bird carvings found on the websites of various craftsmen. |
